Pyrography Art Painting - Playing

This painting is like the title, playful! Here, I just could move freely in the space, there was no need for thinking about how to set up the image, it was a free flow of movements and an intuitive choice of colors and forms. Total relaxation between other paintings, which are more demanding. This was just...playing...which reminded me of the importance of just playing.

Maintaining the painting: The wood is layered with Birchwood. This means different layers are glued together to make it strong and durable. It is treated with organic linseed oil to protect and feed the wood. This can be repeated every year if necessary. You can add a thin layer with a soft brush and let it dry. Wood is a living organism so it needs some attention. Especially monsoon time. In spaces where there is no AC or dehumidifier please remove any signs of fungus by cleaning the surface of the painting with a soft cloth. It will not affect the paint but it needs to be removed as soon as it appears.

Pyrography: I work on wood using the technique of pyrography and after work on the carving with different media like ink, watercolor, pencil, gouache, gold paint, and gold powder. My pallets contain highly saturated colors but also subdued nuances. Pyrography is the art of wood-burning with a heated pen. It feels like an outpouring of what happens inside my spiritual process. My painting is my meditation. I go inside the silence and find an inner focus and balance. From the place of harmony and contentment flows the inspiration and also the struggle to bring that into the material form.
